About the Office of Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (OCIIO)

The Department of Health and Human Services is working with the Office of Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight and other Operating Divisions to issue regulations, provide training materials, invite public comments in advance of future rulemaking, and implement many of the provisions of the Affordable Care Act.

Featured Grant: Health Insurance Premium Review Grants

The Affordable Care Act is making $250 million available over five years to help states transform the way they review health insurance premium increases. This will help hold insurance companies accountable for their proposed rate hikes. The map below shows the first round of grants to 46 states.
