Stakeholder Engagement
The council will engage with stakeholders in developing the strategy. Stakeholders include the public; community-based organizations, and practitioners in the public and private sectors engaged in prevention and wellness programs and activities. Stakeholders also include federal, state, regional, local, and tribal officials who work in public health.
Stakeholder input will be gathered through:
- Listening sessions at national and regional meetings
- Web-based media for stakeholders and the public to provide input

Conference Call with Surgeon General Regina Benjamin
The National Prevention and Health Promotion Strategy will include input from a range of stakeholders whose work has an impact on health, but who might not consider themselves to be health professionals.
Stakeholders from various sectors will be able to provide feedback on how their work (e.g. education, transportation, agriculture, labor, etc.) affects the nation’s health.
