Explore your coverage and pricing options – Espanol

Spanish language transcript not available for this video. English transcript: Welcome to HealthCare.gov, your one-stop-shop for information on the Affordable Care Act and all of your options for health insurance coverage. This video gives you an overview of the website and shows you how to find the information you need to take more control over your health care, including how to get a personalized list of coverage options. Over on the right, where it says “Your Health Care Explained” you can choose a profile that fits you. Let’s say you have a family and children. Now let’s say you’re about to lose the coverage you have through your job. On the left-hand side select ‘loosing work coverage’. Here you’ll see links to all the information you need about your particular situation, including information about how the Affordable Care Act will change things. You can also visit different sections of the site to find the information that best fits you.

Let’s go back to the homepage and look at another very useful tool. You can use HealthCare.gov to find a personalized listing of health insurance options, including details on pricing and the ability to compare private plans. It takes just a few simple steps. Start by selecting your state. Next, identify yourself by selecting one of the groups from the following list. Hit ‘Next’ and you’re just one screen away from completing the form and seeing your list of options. Answer the question about what kind of coverage you’re looking for, your age range, and a few additional items. Click ‘Submit’. The insurance finder has returned this list of personalized options. These may include private health insurance, public plans, special programs in your state, and new plans under the Affordable Care Act for people with pre-existing medical conditions.

Let’s take a look at the choices you might have in buying an individual health insurance policy from a private company. In this section of the site, you can: browse through available plans, get more details about specific plan benefits, and compare plans, including their pricing and benefits, side-by-side. Let’s get started. First, enter your zip code when you want coverage to start and a little more information about yourself. If you wanted to add additional individuals to your policy, you would enter each of their information here as well. While the insurance finder is bringing up your personalized options, you’ll see some important information to keep in mind when looking at these plans. When you’re ready to see your personalized list, click “Show me the plans”. Here, you’ll see a list of plans that may be available to you.

There is information about each of these plans, including the monthly premium estimate, maximum out-of-pocket costs, and the annual deductible. From this menu at the top and this list on the left-hand side, you’ll see different ways that you can sort the plans to help you find the one that is best for you. You can also select up to three plans at a time to help you compare different benefits and costs. By clicking on ‘plan details’ you can learn more details about each plan. There’s lots of information here to help you make the decision that’s right for you and your family. If you need more help, visit this link at the top of the page. HealthCare.gov is your one-stop-shop for information on health coverage and your resource for taking your health care into your own hands.
