From February 15 through May 15, you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period to enroll in or change health coverage due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency.

If you have certain life changes, like having a baby, getting married, moving, or losing health coverage, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period any time. Learn about Special Enrollment Periods.

START OR UPDATE AN APPLICATION
  • If you have a qualifying life event, we strongly recommend you fill out or update an application as soon as possible.
  • When you apply, we'll tell you when your coverage can start.
  • You can apply for Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) any time of year. Just fill out a Marketplace application.
