2022 health coverage & your federal taxes

No health coverage for 2022

If you didn’t have coverage during 2022, you won’t have to pay a fee when you file your federal taxes.
Notice:
Some states charge a fee if you don’t have health coverage

If you live in a state that requires you to have health coverage and you don’t have coverage (or an exemption), you’ll be charged a fee when you file your 2022 state taxes. Check with your state or tax preparer.
You will NOT get Form 1095-A unless you or someone in your household had Marketplace coverage for all or part of 2022.
