For most people, the time to enroll in or change 2016 health insurance has passed. But you may still be able to enroll for the rest of 2016 two ways: with a Special Enrollment Period, or through Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
FYI: Open Enrollment for 2017 coverage starts November 1
If neither 2016 coverage option works for you, you can apply for 2017 health insurance starting November 1, 2016. Coverage can start as soon as January 1, 2017.
You can preview 2017 plans and prices now.
In a few rare instances, you may be able to buy a plan outside Open Enrollment without a Special Enrollment period. Learn more.
