IMPORTANT: If you didn’t file and "reconcile" for 2014 If you’re enrolled in a 2016 Marketplace plan but didn’t file your 2014 taxes, you’ll get a notice saying you may lose the financial help you’re getting for your 2016 plan. You must file your 2014 taxes and “reconcile” the premium tax credit for all members of your household to avoid having to pay full price for your 2016 plan. See how to "reconcile".

You should’ve already filed your 2014 taxes, but if you haven’t, you should do so immediately. When you file your taxes for the 2014 tax filing year:

  • You’ll provide additional information when you file your 2014 federal income tax return.
  • You may have to complete one or two new tax forms.
  • You may have to use a tax tool to find 2014 Bronze or Silver premiums to complete your tax return.
  • If you didn’t have 2014 health coverage, you may have to get a health coverage exemption or pay a fee with your tax return.
